Who are the Louisville Coaches?

The coaching staff of Louisville is doing a great job this season.  Charlie Strong in his second season is building a strong team and doing everything right.  He is trying to get his team back to a bowl game and has the staff necessary to do it.

Head Coach Charlie Strong is in his second season as the HC.  His led the Cardinals to a bowl game in his first year.  Although they lost 6 games, it was a combined 49 points in those losses, so the defense was not a question.  Strong spent 7 years at UF under Urban Meyer, leading one of the most aggressive defenses in the country.  He brings his 27 years of knowledge to Louisville and has the Cardinals growing right now.  He is doing a great job and with the staff he has, they will only get better down the road.

Vance Bedford is the defensive coordinator, entering his second season on Strong's staff.  He was the defensive back coach for UF before joining Strong when he came over.  He has 18 years of experience and was a former player in the NFL.  He is very energetic and brings an aggressive style of defense to the field.  The Cardinals will blitz and are one of the better team is in the conference at making tackles for loss, so expect a lot of pressure from the defensive line and linebackers in this game (take note Eveld).

Shawn Watson is the quarterbacks coach and the offensive coordinator for Louisville.  Watson enters this first season with the Cardinals after spending the last 5 years with Nebraska.  While he was there, he introduced a spread offense for the Cornhuskers that allows the quarterback to open up the field and find targets.  He is working hard with Bridgewater and has a solid unit that can score points quickly if they are able to get into space and create.
