Who are the Miami Coaches?

The tie is coming to Tampa!

The Bulls are back home as they take on in-state for Miami. Let's take a look at who the coaches are for the Hurricanes and what they bring to the field.

Head Coach Al Golden is in his first season as the head coach, taking over for Randy Shannon. Golden spent the last 5 seasons at Temple, turning that program around. Golden took the Owls to multiple bowl games and helped them finish with winning records, something that had not been seen in years. Golden is a very traditional coach, teaching fundamentals, discipline, and smart football. He also helps the players off the field, making sure players are passing classes and graduating. Before he was the head coach at temple, he was the defensive coordinator at Virginia for 5 years. Golden is the 6th youngest head coach in the NCAA, but he coaches like a veteran and will have his team ready for this game.

Mark D'Onofrio is enter his first season as the defensive coordinator at Miami. He spent the last two seasons as the defensive coordinator at Temple with Golden, leading a resurgent Owls team. Before coaching at Temple, he spent two years in the NFL as an assistant. The former Penn State player brings high intensity to the sideline and the defense feeds off of him. The defense plays soundly and tackles well. They create pressure and come after the quarterback. It will be interesting to see how he brings pressure with his linebackers against the USF offensive line that continues to protect and open up the running game. The Bulls didn't give up a sack last time out, so they will have to replicate that result in this game as well.

Jedd Fisch is entering his first season at Miami as well as the offensive coordinator. Last season, he spent the 2010 season with the Seattle Seahawks coaching the quarterbacks (Matt Hasselbeck, not a bad person to coach and be around). He spent 9 seasons in the NFL, bouncing around to multiple team and spent one season with the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Fisch runs an offense with multiple looks, using a power run game, but will allow Jacory Harris to sit back in the shot gun and make strikes down the field. The USF defense will have to be ready for whatever he brings to the field. USF has seen nearly every type of offense this season, but the speed of the Miami skill-players will pose a new challenge for them in this game.
