Who is WVU?

No caption is needed here.

The WVU Mountaineers, 8-3 (4-2) on the season, are making their way to Tampa for the season finale on Thursday night (not again!) The Bulls are coming off of a heart breaking loss to Louisville last Friday afternoon, but now have to focus. They are 5-6 on the season, so there is a snowball's chance in heck that they could win and get to a bowl game, but more importantly, it's senior night for the Bulls. They will have to dig deep in order to find the energy to win this game against a high powered WVU offense.

WVU is averaging 35.4 points a game under first year head coach Dana Holgorsen and his pass happy offense. Geno Smith is leading the team that averaging 351.4 yards a game through the air, so the Bulls secondary will have to figure out the gaps in their zone coverage if they do not want to get blown up in this game. WVU averages 116 yards a game on the ground, so the rush defense will have to sure up the middle and make sure their running backs don't get free with the secondary watching all of the wide receivers on the field for WVU. WVU scores most of their points in the second and third quarters, so the Bulls will be tested big time as the game wears on.

The WVU defense and their fun 3-3-5 scheme, allows 26 points a game, so it will be interesting to see if the Bulls can even get close to that mark, not matter who is taking the snaps at quarterback for USF. They allow 138 yards a game on the ground, so this will be the key to the game for USF. The Bulls will have to run the ball to both get yards and control the clock to make sure the WVU offense can not get on the field. They allow 197 yards a game through the air, so don't expect a huge passing game against the fast secondary of the Mountaineers.
