USF 2012 Baseball: Derrick Stultz

Derrick Stultz - 6-3 190-pounds - Senior - RHP

Stultz returns for his senior season after missing the 2011 season due to shoulder surgery, making him a wild card this year.  Prado is expecting him to return to his former glory, but he needs to be at full health if he wants to make an impact.  Stultz has been throwing already this off season, so he should be ready to play, but will be worked into the season slowly as the staff monitors his health.

His last action was in 2009 when he went 5-4, finishing with an ERA of 4.48, showing his talent when he is on the mound. He made 13 appearances, working 76.1 innings, allowing 70 hits while striking out 27 batters and striking out 63 hitters.  He allowed batters to hit .244 against him.  Now that he is healthy, he will be a big part of the rotation if he is healthy and ready to go.  The Bulls will be relying on him to come back strong to help bolster the rotation.
