USF 2012 Baseball: Janick Serrallonga

Janick Serrallonga - 5-9 160-pounds - LHP - Sophomore

Serrallonga enters his sophomore season after a solid freshman campaign coming out of the bullpen.  He made 7 appearances, pitching 8.2 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 3 batters, ending the season with a 3.12 ERA but allowed .361 batting average against opponents due to the limited number of innings worked.

With Quackenbush gone from the bullpen, Prado will need more pitchers to step up late in games and Serrallonga has a chance to help lock down the late innings for the Bulls and will need to come up big this year.  Whether he helps take over as the closer or simply works in late inning situations, he needs to have an even bigger season this year.
