USF 2012 Baseball: James Ramsay

James Ramsay - 6-0 190-pounds - LH - OF

Ramsay returns after a strong season in his freshman campaign for the Bulls. Ramsay hit .250 including 3 home runs and 22 RBIs last season. He walked 16 times and struck out 43 times, earning an OBP of .308 and a slugging percentage of .372 (needs to cut down on the high strike out total). He was also 5 of 7 in steals. Ramsay played a solid center for Prado, displaying his range and speed to cover a lot of ground in the outfield. Ramsay slowed down towards the end of the year after a hot start, but he has the skills needed to take his game to another level.

Ramsay returns as one of the key bats Prado will be looking to this year to carry the load on offense. He has the power, but has to be more consistent on getting on base and add a solid hitter for the batting order. If Ramsay can cut down on his strike out total and get on base more consistently, he could have a huge season and make a big impact for USF.
