USF MBB Beats Providence

It was my Volvo Alma Mater weekend and what better wait to cap it off was a big win for USF over Providence as they won 81 to 78. The Bulls made it interesting in the closing minute as they fouled the Friar shooters several times from 3-point range, but the Bulls were strong and dominated and improve their record to 13-9 (6-3) on the season.

Ron Anderson Jr. had 14 points and 5 rebounds in a strong performance. Toarlyn Fitzpatrick had 13 points (3 of 4 from 3-point range), 7 rebounds, and had 2 assists. Victor Rudd Jr. had 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists during the game, making some key free throws down the stretch to keep USF ahead.

Hugh Robertson had 15 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and had 3 steals. Anthony Collins had 15 points (2 of 3 from 3-point range), 5 assists, and 2 steals in another huge game for the freshman as he continues to find his offensive game, adding more dimensions to the USF attack. Augustus Gilchrist had 11 points and 3 rebounds. Jawanza Poland had 4 points and 2 rebounds in the game as well.

The Bulls are now 6-3 in the Big East now, exceeding their win total from last season and putting themselves in a great position in the conference as they continue their late push at the end of the season. The Bulls will travel to Georgetown on Saturday for an early 11AM tip-off.
