USF Lands 2012 RB Commit

From Greg Auman - While the basketball team was winning at the Forum, the football team was landing another commit for the 2012 class. Running back Michael Pierre out of Golden West Community College in California (originally from Orlando) has verbally committed to Holtz and crew.

The 5'11 200-pound running back becomes the only running back to join the 2012 recruiting class and helps add depth to a needed position for the Bulls. Pierre will help add depth to the offensive void left behind after Darrell Scott left early for the NFL.

Scott runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds (according to Rivals.com) showing his speed and ability to make the first cut to get up the field. In his first season at Golden West, he ran the ball 84 times for 420 yards and 3 touchdowns. His last season, he carried the ball 143 times for 730 yards (5.1 yards per carry) and scored 6 touchdowns. He also had 3 receptions for 36 yards.

This is a much needed commit for the Bulls as they try to add some talent late in the recruiting process. Pierre will be a nice addition to the depth chart for the Bulls as they enter the 2012 season.
