Ron Anderson Jr. Leading by Example

The Bulls continue their incredible season as they beat Providence on Saturday afternoon.  At 8-4 in conference play, there is a lot to be proud of, but Heath and company know they have a long way and as the season goes on, the veteran players continue to provide the leadership and energy on the court.  One of the biggest keys to this leadership on and off the court is senior Ron Anderson Jr.

Anderson, the 6-8 237-pound transfer from Kansas State two years ago has become the anchor for the team in the paint and the emotional catalyst for the team.

On the court, he is averaging 8.3 points per game (shooting 58% from the floor, ranking among the best in the league), 5.5 rebounds per game, has 29 assists, 14 blocks, and 14 steals as well.  Anderson is able to dominate the paint and moves well without the ball, getting into position to take high percentage shots and help the offense.  On defense, he is very aggressive and brings high energy whether he starts or comes off the bench.

While the offensive numbers are great, it is his senior leadership and intensity that lead the Bulls.  Anderson is typically leading the huddles, gathering players around him, and clapping his hands to get the team and fans to their feet.  Anderson is spark plug to the team and does everything he can to get the team motivated and players all out on each possession.

Having a leader like Ron has been key and will continue to fuel the team.  As the Bulls face Villanova on Wednesday and the rest of their schedule, Anderson will continue to energize and lead by example and hopefully lead the Bulls to a few more wins in the process.
