We finally reach number one on the countdown and of course, it has to be ace pitcher Sara Nevins. Nevins burst onto the scene last year in her freshman year dominating everyone she faced. She led the Bulls pitching staff with a record of 15-8 while maintaining an ERA of just 1.71 (get out of here).
She worked 155.1 innings, pitching 12 complete games and even saved 8 games for Eriksen. She allowed 115 hits (.192 batting average against her) while walking just 23 and striking out 193 batters (unreal numbers by the lefty). Nevins is the real deal and if she is even close to her numbers from 2011, the Bulls pitching staff will be unstoppable in 2012. So there you have it USF fans, the top player for the 2012 team, Miss Nevins. Do you agree with the pick or think we missed someone along the way? Let us know!
Great list for the returners... Should mention that we got a few impact transfers (Mouse, Jackson, Santos, & Jourgens) that will contribute/start right away. Also a couple of freshmen that should help. Much deeper team than last year and more athletic as well. With a favorable big east schedule, we should contend for a conference title!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, we have a full season preview that goes over the incoming players like Mouse. The team is loaded this year and has a real shot at the Big East title and further.
