Yuck. USF baseball, now 4-4, got ripped tonight, dropping the game to UCF 1 to 12. USF had just 9 hits, committed 2 errors, and struck out 15 times overall as a team.
Nick Gonzalez getting the start, went just 3 innings, allowing 7 hits, 4 runs, walking 2 and striking out 1. Kyle Parker went 3 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, walking 1 and struck out 1. Adrian Puig went just two thirds of an inning, allowing 5 hits, 5 runs, 1 walk, and struck out one. Mike Clarkson went 1.1 innings, walking 2 to finish the game. The offense wasn't much better. James Ramsay was 2 for 4, Daniel Rockhold was 1 for 3 with the RBI, and Alex Mendez was 2 for 3 as the Bulls forgot their bats in Tampa.
USF has dropped 4 of the last 5 games after their 3-0 start and this by far was the worst. USF has an exhibition game against the Yankees on Friday before they open up a weekend series with Savannah State.
USFMatt, maybe you should stop tweeting about the baseball team. All your posts are negative and I am trying to figure out why you even waste your time tweeting/commenting about such a crappy team (as you put it)! It's amazing the posts that are on this blog. I have to wonder if you played a sport yourself or are you just one of those people who criticize but have actually done nothing! One more thing, the errors committed by the shortstop have not cost us our losses!!! And frankly I am sick of hearing it, look back at the past 4 years/ss - 9 errors, 16 errors, 26 errors!! Enough already, if you and your followers have nothing nice to say, then shut it!
ReplyDeleteFirst post was game preview and this post simply lays out numbers yet it's negative? Yes, I've played sports, basketball, track, cross country and baseball, so when you're beaten, I know how it goes and the numbers don't lie buddy. Maybe being an opinion based blog hasn't quite sunk in yet. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteDude chill out, you think they are all negative? Being beaten 1 to 12, yeah, an opinion based blog can say what it wants about the performance. Look at the last few years, the team has been bad and this was another bad game. If you're tired of reading it, then don't. Quite crying when he has his opinions on an opinion blog, they are based by facts, just because they rub you wrong, good grief.
ReplyDeleteYou're right USFMatt I don't like your bashing of the baseball players/team, they work their butts off daily and don't purposely try to lose these games. It's funny, don't recall seeing any of your so called OPINIONS when the football team was playing like crap. Really hope you're not a USF graduate, that would be a slap in the face to USF! Just saying!
ReplyDeleteWhere is there a bashing of an individual player? The guy has never done that. Read the old posts, plenty of talk about what has gone wrong with the football team and because the guy points out they can't hit, that's bashing them? Wow, get real.
ReplyDeleteI never said they don't work, I did say they got handled in that game, it happens in sports, just look at what we talked about USF football and the blow out loss to Pitt, it happens in sports. I am a proud USF grad, thank you very much, and how is it a slap in the face that I display my dissatisfaction with a team that has underperformed the last two years. If you want me to be all merry and sunshine about it, I can do that, but the facts are there.
ReplyDeleteDude, don't apologize, they lost, the numbers are right, you weren't hard on them, it was the truth. Being blown out 1 to 12 is awful, how is it good? A person voices out because they love their teams and are tired of them being beaten each year, yeah no pride there, get with it.
ReplyDeleteWhat's these people talking about? Has you all ever been to the forum? We bash the football team all the time? All the time! They've even made bad parody songs about the football team. No one's work ethic is being questioned here. It's the results. So sorry if you don't like, but I don't see any of you all going out of your way to make your own website. Shit majority of you don't even have the balls to put your real name on your comments. Get real at least somebody is talking about USF sports which is what I can't say for most of the closet Gator fans that inhabit our campus.
