USF Ladies Drop Game to St. John's

The Bulls lost another tough game today, falling to St. John's 57 to 67 in an early start time for both teams.  USF, without star guard Jasmine Wynne (concussion) and rising freshman Shalethia Stringfield (personal reasons) could not muster a comeback in the second half as the Red Storm, who were tied with the Bulls at the half, pulled away.  USF committed 20 turnovers during the game while only dishing out 4 assists as the offense fizzled at the end.

Tahira Johnson had 7 points and 5 rebounds.  Andrell Smith had 12 points and 8 rebounds with the start today.  Caitlin Rowe had 6 points and 3 rebounds.  Sasha Bernard had 14 points (shot 5 of 13) and added 4 rebounds.  Inga Orekhova struggled to find her range, finishing the day with 9 points (just 1 of 6 from 3-point range) and 5 rebounds.  Tiffany Conner had 9 points off the bench for the Bulls as well.

USF is now 12-13 (4-7) on the season and could have seen their chances at an NIT bid fade away with this loss.  There are still games to be played however and the ladies will need to finish out the year strong if they want to make some noise in the Big East tournament.  USF will face Villanova on Saturday night at the Rec Center (game scheduled to start at 7PM).
