USF WBB Hits the Road to Take on Notre Dame

The USF Bulls, back over .500 at 15-13 (7-7) hit the road as they face another top ranked opponent in league play when they visit the 3rd ranked Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. ND is 26-2 (13-1) on the season with a 14-1 record at home, so the ladies are facing yet another huge battle (game starts at 2PM).

The Irish are led by junior guard Skylar Diggins (5-9) one of the most dominate players in the nation. She is averaging 17.8 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per game, leads the team with 5.6 assists per game, and has 71 steals on the year. Senior guard Natalie Novosel (5-11) is averaging 14.3 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game. Senior forward Devereaux Peters (6-2) is averaging 12.2 points per game, 9 rebounds per game, has 46 blocks on the season and 58 steals, creating a matchup issue in the paint.

Sophomore guard Kayla McBride (5-11) is averaging 11.6 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Natalie Achonwa (6-3) is averaging 8.2 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. Freshman forward Markisha Wright (6-2) is averaging 4 points and 2.6 rebounds and junior guard Kaila Turner (5-8) is averaging 3.6 points per game and 1.3 rebounds off the bench as well.

Once again, USF is facing a tough game against one of the nation's best teams. USF will have to find their range early and often in the game and lock down Diggins on defense if they want to try to pull off the big time upset.
