USF WBB Takes on Pitt

The USF ladies, coming off of a strong win against Marquette on the road, return home to take on Pitt at 7PM.  The Bulls are 14-13 (6-7) on the season and will need to close out the season with some key wins if they want a shot to get an NIT bid.  Pitt is 8-17 (0-12) on the year with an 0-8 record on the road so this is a game the Bulls need to have.  They allow 69 points per game and only average 59 points per game, so the Bulls have a chance to put up points and fight for a huge win (game starts at 7PM at the Rec Center).

Freshman guard Brianna Kiesel (5-6) is averaging 13.2 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game, and has 54 steals on the season.  Sophomore guard Ashlee Anderson (5-9) is averaging 11.3 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and 41 steals on the season.  Sophomore center Leeza Burdgess (6-5) is averaging 6.3 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per game, giving the Panthers a huge presence in the paint.  Sophomore guard Abby Dowd (5-9) is averaging 5.1 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game.

Sophomore forward Kyra Dunn (6-2) is averaging 5.3 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game.  The Bulls should have the size advantage with Rowe, Orekhova, and McDonald in this game and in the paint.  Sophomore guard (5-9) is averaging 8.9 points per game, 2.5 rebounds per game, and has 19 blocks on the season.

The Bulls have the upper hand in this game, but they need to expect a battle.  Pitt has always seemed to have their number so despite the records, the lady Bulls will need to be ready for this game and need to take care of business if they want to get one step closer to the postseason bid they have been chasing all season.
