Big East Releases Football Schedules

After waiting for the Big East to finalize its conference schedule, the league released the 2012 schedules for each Big East team.  Here is the 2012 schedule for USF (per CBS Sports).

Sat., Sept. 1 - Chattanooga
Sat., Sept. 8 - at Nevada
Sat., Sept. 15 - RUTGERS (date subject to change)
Sat., Sept. 22 - at Ball State
Sat., Sept. 29 - Florida State
Sat., Oct. 6 - at TEMPLE
Sat., Oct. 20 - at LOUISVILLE
Sat., Oct. 27 - SYRACUSE
Sat., Nov. 3 - CONNECTICUT
Sat., Nov. 17 - at Miami (Fla.)
Fri., Nov. 23 - at CINCINNATI
Sat., Dec. 1 - PITTSBURGH

The Bulls open with Chattanooga, before heading out west with Nevada.  They follow the next weekend with a game against Rutgers to open up the Big East schedule early.  The date is subject to change (per Greg Auman) possibly moving the game to the Thursday night, giving the Bulls a short week after a west coast road trip.  This date hasn't happened, but could.

The Bulls will travel to Philadelphia to open Temple's Big East schedule in October.  The Bulls then play 2  out of their final 3 games on the road, ending the year with a home showdown against Pitt (last game in the Big East for the Panthers).  The Bulls will have at least 3 games on ABC, ESPN, or ESPN with FSU, Cincinnati, and Pitt filling up those TV slots.

  1. Do my eyes freaking deceive me or is this the first USF Football schedule where all the games are on a Friday or Saturday!? The foolish naïve USF sports fan would believe that this is a favorable schedule since there is no chance for a Thursday night death trap game or worse a Wednesday night kick in the teeth game. However, it’s not. They’ll probably win the first three or four games, maybe even upset Florida State again with home field advantage. However, mark my words all they’re doing to USF is replacing the West Virginia game with an equally frustrating opponent in Pitt. The garbage trifecta that always puts a stop to USF’s fun: Rutgers, Cincinnati, and Uconn are still there. Forget about beating Miami at home; they can’t even out score them in a field goal shoot out at home! If this team finishes on the top half of the big east standings I’d gladly kill myself the day after so that I’ll die knowing they’ve reached the peak of their potential. It’s not even the fact that they lost so many close games, it’s the quality of play and how they lost them. In this economy I’ve looked the other way with supporting my favorite teams due to fan love and loyalty, but I’m supposed to look the other way as a fan and alum by shelling out time, effort, and money to go support this team!? Give me a freaking break! This team doesn’t deserve it and nobody in their right mind should get excited about them. Wake me up when its basketball season at least they actually had the balls to finish what they started and even better they played like they had something to prove.
