The USF Bulls got an outstanding start from senior Andrew Barbosa in the first game of the series, but it fell apart as the Irish rallied in the 10th inning to score 5 runs, beating USF 3 to 8.  USF, now 18-9 (3-1) , were able to come back in the 8th to tie the game and had a chance in the 9th inning to win the game with the bases loaded, but were not able to get a run in and the Irish took it in extras.

Andrew Barbosa had another great start as he continues to pound the strike zone.  Barbosa went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), 1 walk, and punched out 14 batters.  It was the 7th inning with Barbosa close to his pitch limit when the Irish were able to hit a double to go ahead in the game.  Steven Leasure came in after him, working 1.1 innings, striking out 2 batters.  Ray Delphey worked 1.1 innings, allowing 4 hits, 5 runs (all in the 10th inning, the first runs he has given up all year), and struck out 2 batters.  Kyle Parker got the last two outs, giving up a hit and walking one batter.

The offense had a key chance to win the game in the 9th with the bases loaded, but couldn't get a run in.  James Ramsay went 1 for 5.  Daniel Rockhold went 1 for 3 with a home run and scored 2 runs.  Todd Brazeal went 1 for 2.  Buddy Putnam went 1 for 1 with 2 RBI in the 8th inning to help the Bulls tie the game after Barbosa gave up the double in the 7th inning.

The Bulls will look to get back to the winning ways tomorrow night with a game at 6PM as they try to strike back and gain a game in conference standings.
