USF Baseball Wins 5 to 1 Over Eastern Illinois to Take Series

The USF Bulls won 5 to 1 over Eastern Illinois today, improving to 10-6 on the season as they continue to play well at home.

Joey Lovecchio was in command today, working 8 innings, allowing 3 hits (had a no-hitter going into the 7 inning) 1 walk, 1 run, and struck out 2.  Ray Delphey went 1 inning, allowing 1 hit, and struck out 2 batters to close the day out and give the Bulls the big win.

The offense, after having just one hit yesterday, was able to get out in front today with timely hitting.  Daniel Rockhold went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs.  Buddy Putnam went 1 for 3 with an RBI as well.

This was a solid win for the Bulls, as they take the series and get to double digit wins on the year.  The Bulls will face Yale tomorrow evening at 7PM for a single game as they try to notch win number 11 during spring break.
