USF Beats Lafayette in the First Game of the Series

While all eyes were on the basketball game, the baseball team was taking care of business. The Bulls won 5 to 0 last night over Lafayette as they improve to 13-6 on the year as they begin the 3-game series.

Andrew Barbosa had one of his best outings of the season, working 6 innings, allowing just 3 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 4 batters on the night. Steven Leasure went 3 innings in relief, allowing 2 hits and struck out 4 batters (great outing for him as well).

The offense was able to make some noise in this game as well as they put up 5 runs on the board. James Ramsay, who continues to rip the cover off the ball, went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Matt Hart went 2 for 4. Todd Brazeal went 1 for 2 with an RBI. Luis Llerena went 2 for 4 and Kyle Teaf went 1 for 4 with an RBI as well.

This was a strong win for USF as they continue to play well at home. They will face the Leopards again today at 6PM.
