The Bulls, sitting at 19-4 on the year, are on a roll to begin the year and will look to defend home turf as Canisius (4-11 on the year) comes into town for a mid-week matchup.
The Golden Griffins will be looking for the big upset win. The Bulls on the other hand want to defend home field and get prepared for the USF Invite Tournament starting on Friday night (game starts at 5PM).
The Golden Griffins are led by junior 2nd baseman Katine Medina (5-11) who is hitting .310 with 5 RBIs on the season so far. Senior infielder Lauryn Chris (5-4) is batting .290 with a triple and 1 RBI on the season. Sophomore infielder Valorie Nappo (5-8) is batting .279 with 4 RBIs. Senior outfielder Lizzy Gatto (5-1) is batting .257 with 4 RBIs. Freshman infielder Robin Kennery (5-7) is batting .238 with 4 RBIs and senior outfielder Lauren Falzone (5-4) is batting .327 with 4 RBIs and has 6 steals on the year. The starting pitching rotation is led by senior RHP Caroline Main (5-7) is 3-5 on the year while working 42.1 innings, allowing 57 hits, 17 walks and has struck out 30 batters so far. Sophomore RHP Jen Consaul (5-9) is 1-2 while working 37.1 innings while allowing 49 hits, 15 walks, and has struck out 14 batters on the year.
The Bulls have the pitching staff to dominate this game. With Sara Nevins on fire, Richardson, and Greiner ready to go and the offense that is heating up with Medina, Jackson, Richardson and others, the Bulls will be ready for this game and should be able to come out early and often and put some runs on the board. The Bulls will stay at home as they host Fairfield and Northwestern on Friday afternoon as they begin the USF Invite tournament.
