Top 5 Offensive Performers from 2011: Number 4

At number five on the offensive countdown of the top performers from 2011, we saw the offensive line get the credit they deserve. Now we take a look at number four, a running back that decided to hop to the NFL early after a strong season for the Bulls, Darrell Scott.

Scott played just one season for the Bulls after sitting out the year before after transferring from Colorado.  The former 5-star prospect carried the ball 153 times for the Bulls, totaling 824 yards on the year, rushing for 5 touchdowns.  He also caught 15 passes for 169 yards and 1 touchdown as well.

Scott displayed power running and deceptive speed during his one season as a Bulls.  He showed his athleticism by jumping over would be tacklers and gave the fans a few highlights in his one season.  Scott however did suffer a few injuries late in the year that held him back and he failed to score a touchdown in conference play, something that hurt the Bulls down the stretch.  Scott left early and will try to find his way in the NFL draft now.

So there is number four on the list.  Do you agree with the pick?  Think that Murray should be ahead of him on the list?  Let the debate start.

  1. Scott sucked. All his stats came against Ball State, FAMU and UTEP. He did NOTHING against Big East opponents. He won't be missed.

  2. Way to go Darrell, instead of staying at USF and having a 1200+ yd year as a stud Jr. RB you decided to declare for a draft in which you won't get drafted. Someone gave Scott some really poor advice. Too bad, he could have been great for USF had he stayed for 2 more years.
