USF Baseball Avoids the Sweep, Beats Villanova

The Bulls were able to avoid the sweep as they beat the Wildcats 3 to 1 improving their record to 29-16 (12-6) on the year.  

Derrick Stultz went 7.1 innings, allowing just 3 hits, 1 run, walking 2 batters and struck out 3 batters.  Austin Adams went two thirds of an inning, striking out 1 batter.  Nick Gonzalez came in for the 9th inning, allowing 1 hit and struck out 1 batter to end the game. 

The offense was able to come up clutch for the Bulls.  James Ramsay went 2 for 4 with a run scored and stole a base.  Jimmy Falla went 1 for 3, driving in a run and scored a run.  Kyle Teaf went 1 for 2 with an RBI and a run scored.  Kyle Copack, getting the start at 3rd base, went 1 for 3 with an RBI. 

The Bulls will hit the road to take on St. John's this coming weekend on the road, starting Friday at 6PM.  It will be a huge game for the Bulls as they look to continue to stay in the hunt for the Big East title race.
