USF Baseball Beats Cincinnati 8 to 2

The offense heated up for the Bulls as they hit the road to take on Cincinnati tonight.  USF won 8 to 2 in the first game of the 3-game series, improving their record to 21-10 (6-1) on the year as they continue to play well in conference play.

Andrew Barbosa was back at it again tonight, working 7 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, and struck out 6 as he improves to 4-2 on the year.  Adrian Puig worked 2 innings, allowing a single hit and struck out 2 batters to end the game.

The Bulls got it going on offense.  Alex Mendez went 2 for 5 with 4 RBIs, including a huge double in the 9th inning that cleared the bases and sealed the game for good.  James Ramsay went 2 for 4 and Jimmy Falla went 3 for 5.  Andrew Longley went 1 for 4 with an RBI, Kyle Teaf went 1 for 3 with an RBI, and Luis Llerena went 2 for 4 and scored 2 runs.

USF is 6-1 in the conference, but still has a lot of work to do.  They will take on the Bearcats again tomorrow at 6:30 as they look to go up 2 to 0 in the series and extend their great start in conference play.
