USF Baseball Beats Notre Dame 6 to 4 to Take Series

Derrick Stultz had a strong outing as the Bulls took the series from the Irish today.
The Bulls continued to swing a hot bat as they beat Notre Dame 6 to 4 to take two games out of three against the Irish and run their record to 20-8 (5-1) on the year as the Bulls continue to strong play at home.  The Bulls are now 5-1 in conference play, a major mark for the team as league play heats up. 

Derrick Stultz worked 7 innings, allowing 7 hits, 3 runs, walking 1 and struck out 3.  Steven Leasure worked a perfect 8th inning in relief, striking out one.  Ray Delphey worked the 9th, allowing a home run, but struck out one batter and got two fly outs to end the game. 

The offense continued to roll today as well.  Alex Mendez went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and scored 2 runs.  Chad Taylor went 1 for 3 with a run scored.  James Ramsay went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs.  Buddy Putnam went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Kyle Teaf went 2 for 4 with an RBI as well as the Bulls continue to get production to get production up and down the batting order. 

The Bulls will take on Stetson on Tuesday night at 7PM before hitting the road to take on Cincinnati on Friday night in their first league game on the road this season.
