Bulls Complete Their Sweep of UCONN with 8 to 3 Victory

The Bulls capped off a great weekend with a sweep of Big East foe 8 to 3 in the final home stand of the regular season.  The Bulls are now 33-18 (16-8) on the year and are ending the year on a very high note.

Matt Reed got the start for the Bulls and went 7 innings, allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, and 1 walk.  Andrew Loynaz took over the 8th, allowing 1 hit, 1 walk, and struck out 1.  Steven Leasure worked the 9th, allowing 1 walk and struck out the side to end the game.

The offense struck hard and fast to start to the game to put the Bulls up 5 to 0 in the 1st inning (thanks to 4 errors by the Huskies as well).  Alex Mendez went 1 for 5 with a run scored.  James Ramsay went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored.  Daniel Rockhold went 1 for 4 with an RBI and scored 2 runs.  Todd Brazeal went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs.  Alex Diaz went 2 for 4 with an RBI as well.

The Bulls will hit the road to take on UNF on Tuesday afternoon (game starts at 2PM, was pushed back due to weather last week) and will end the regular season at WVU over the weekend.  Hopefully the team can take this great momentum from the weekend and end the regular season on a high note heading into the Big East tournament in Clearwater.
