Top 11 Moments from 2011: Number 10

In the first part of the series countdown, we saw JaQuez Jenkins and his key interception make the top 11 moments from 2011.  At number 10, we look at the offensive side of the ball and a trick play that helped the Bulls score a memorable touchdown late in the season.

Demetris Murray TD pass to Deonte Welch vs. Louisville

The number 10 moment comes from the Bulls game against Louisville in a strange game.  The Bulls had to kick-off from at 11am, so attendance was light and starting quarterback B.J. Daniels was out with a shoulder injury.  The Bulls had to come up with creative ways to get the offense going and Todd Fitch drew up a great play to trick the Cardinals defense.

It started with a 62-yard kick-off return by Lindsey Lamar that got the momentum going for the Bulls.  Eveld led the team onto the field, but it wasn't him throwing the touchdown pass, it was running back Demetris Murray who took the handoff and dropped back, lopping a 37 yard strike to Deonte Welch who was able to get behind the defensive back and into the endzone for the big score.

While the team lost the game, it was a huge momentum for the Bulls.  It showed they still had fight late in the year and got the fans on their feet.

So what do you think about that moment?  While the game outcome wasn't exactly what we wanted that day, this one play was a lot of fun to watch.
