Top 11 Moments from 2011: Number 7

#7 - Sterling Griffin's TD reception vs. WVU

Another moment from that WVU game came in the 2nd quarter. The Bulls were down 0 to 10 at that point and needed something to turn the momentum in their favor before halftime.  The Bulls began the drive at their own 24 yard line and were able march down the field against a talented WVU defense.

A holding penalty was called on Chaz Hine (rare) and then a 9-yard run by Darrell Scott left them on third down.  Daniels snapped the ball and threw a great fade pass to Griffin who was able to get behind the defender, turning around and catching the ball as he fell to the ground (Griffin had missed several games due to an ankle injury, but returned and made this huge impact play).

The play was reviewed for a bit, looking at the control of the ball during the fall to the ground and the play was upheld, putting the Bulls on the board.  The moment was huge at the time, it gave the Bulls points on the board, showed the strength of Griffin returning from his ankle injury, and gave the team a chance heading into the halftime.
