USF Hits the Road to Take on UNF

The USF Bulls, 33-18 (16-8), are on the road the final week of the regular season.  They will first head to Jacksonville to take on UNF (game that was pushed back a week due to weather concerns).

UNF, who beat USF 9 to 1 in Tampa, is 29-23 (10-14) on the year but are 15-8 at home, posing a huge challenge to the Bulls who are hot coming off of a 3-game sweep of UCONN over the weekend.  This will be a very interesting game to watch (game starts at 2PM).

UNF is led by sophomore outfielder Tyler Marincov (6-2 205-pounds) who is batting .335 with 9 home runs and has 40 RBIs on the season.  Junior 2B Joe Wielbruda (5-10 180-pounds) is batting .332 with 6 doubles and 22 RBIs.  Sophomore outfielder Alex Bacon (5-9 165-pounds) is batting .271 with 6 home runs and 24 RBIs.  Senior utility player Andrew Kameris (6-2 245-pounds) is batting .269 with 2 home runs and has 16 RBIs. UNF put up 9 runs the last time these two teams faced and if Joey Lovecchio (expected for the Bulls) gets the start in the game, he will have to keep them off the bases and attack the strike zone (Lovecchio has struggled as of late as well).

The UNF pitching staff is led by sophomore RHP Tylor Moore (6-2 185-pounds) who is 6-3 (1.90 ERA) while working 71 innings, allowing 51 hits, 21 walks, and has struck out 80 batters.  Junior LHP Tommy Organ (6-5 165-pounds) is 4-2 (3.69 ERA) while working 53.2 innings, allowing 55 hits, 19 walks, and has 48 strike outs.  Senior RHP Chandler Jagodziniski (5-10 175-pounds) is 3-0 with 2 saves on the year while working 33 innings, allowing 30 hits, 7 walks, and has 31 strike outs. Junior RHP Nick Allibritton (6-2 175-pounds) is 2-1 with 1 save while working 36.2 innings, allowing 37 hits, 18 walks, and has 30 strike outs.  The USF offense has been hot recently, led by Brazeal, Teaf, and Mendez.  They will have to keep it going against a pitching staff that will give up hits, but also attacks the strike zone.

This is a very important game for the Bulls.  USF wants to end the final week of the regular season on a high note heading towards the Big East tournament in Clearwater, but also wants to have a little revenge for the 9 to 1 loss at home earlier this season.  Look for USF to come out swinging and jump out to an early lead and hopefully notch another big win.
