Bulls Eliminated in WCWS, Falling 0 to 1 to LSU

The great season came to an end today, but it was a fun ride while it lasted.  The Bulls were beaten 0 to 1 by LSU in the elimination game of the WCWS and finish the season at 50-14.

Sara Nevins was at her best in this game.  She went 5.2 innings, allowing just 2 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and struck out 6 batters.  The LSU Tigers got that lone run in the bottom of the 6th inning on a sac fly.  Richardson got the final out of that inning.

The Bulls had their chances to get runs across, but couldn't get the clutch hit.  In the 5th inning, the Bulls had the Goff sisters at 2nd and 3rd, but failed to get them in (Fountain was out at home plate earlier in the game as well).  The Bulls managed just two hits in the game (Kafalas and Nowell with singles).  Ashli Goff had 3 walks in the game and stole a base as well.  The game came to an end with hitters interference called on Kafalas as she attempted to bunt.

What a year for the Bulls.  While the loss stings, it can not take away how much this group of young ladies accomplished on the field.  They made history and rewrote the record books at USF.  We all congratulate the ladies on the tremendous effort, heart, and sacrifice they put on this season.  Can't wait for next year.
