USF Faces LSU in Elimination Game

This is it.  FEED THE MOUSE!
Do or die time. The USF Bulls (50-13) lost their first game of the WCWS to Oklahoma 1 to 5 and now they face elimination against LSU who lost their opening game to the top seeded Cal team 3 to 5.  Both sides will be looking to continue their seasons in this do or die game, so anything can happen (game slated to start at noon).

LSU softball went 39-23 (now 39-24) during the regular season, including 15-13 in the SEC (Jessica Mouse's former team).  The lady Tigers were able to jump out to a 2 to 0 lead against Cal and had a chance late to upset the Golden Bears, but fell just short.

On offense, LSU is led by senior outfielder Ashley Langoni (5-6) who batted .265 during the regular season with 11 doubles, 6 home runs, and drove in 30 runs.  Sophomore infielder Allison Falcon (5-4) batted .252 with 3 home runs and drove in 22 runs.  Senior infielder Juliana Santos (5-5) is batted .250 with 1 home run and drove in 22 runs.  Freshman outfielder AJ Andrews (5-4) batted .228 with 8 RBIs and stole 14 bases.  The Tigers are not an overly powerful batting order, but they have the ability to string together several hits and put pressure on opposing pitching staffs. Nevins and Richardson will have to come back out and continue to attack the strike zone and get the Tigers chasing early.

The Tigers pitching is led by junior RHP Rachele Fico (5-5). She finished the regular season with a record of 20-12 (.96 ERA) was throwing 220.1 innings, allowing 140 hits, 77 walks, and struck out 213 batters.  Senior RHP Brittany Mack (5-10) finished the year with a 15-12 record (2.21 ERA) while tossing 168 innings, allowing 149 hits, 56 walks, and struck out 193 batters.  The USF offense managed just 3 hits against the Sooners, so they will look to get the bats going in this game.

This is it for both teams.  The loser heads home, the winner continues their season.  Whoever wins this game takes on Arizona State tonight at 7PM.  FEED THE MOUSE!
