2011 stats: Lanaris started all 12 games at the MIKE linebacker position for the Bulls. He totaled 87 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception, 2 PBU, and forced 2 fumbles.
Position on the depth chart: Lanaris appeared as the starter at MIKE once again this spring and will be the starting linebacker in the middle this season.
2012 projection: Lanaris returns as one of the senior starters in the linebacking corps for the Bulls. He is a solid run stopper, coming up and hitting any ball carrier without fear. There were points last season where he was opposing offenses were able to get behind him in the passing game, but with experience and the new defensive coordinator Chris Cosh, they will correct the mistakes and make sure he has a huge season in the middle of the defense.
