Instant Analysis: DERP, USF Falls to Ball State

So...that happened.  The Bulls, who needed to just take care of business after a bad loss to RU, laid an egg to Ball State, yes, Ball State.  The offense was all over the place, penalties hurt the time, defense failed to get off the field, and Daniels threw two interceptions that killed the late.

USF will face FSU next week and let's be real honest, it could get ugly there.  This was a bad loss.  We love USF, but this was bad.  We have a lot to learn, a lot to change, and with the Noles coming, good luck.

Full game recap tomorrow, but for now, pure anger.  This was bad.

  1. Not surprise this happened I mean after every Thursday night loss they always reach new levels of low.

  2. I hate this team so much. The next one on the football team who tweets about how they worked hard and they'll get it together should be stripped of their scholarship and be forced to watch that game's film over and over again before being beaten to death.

  3. I just want to say from the bottom of my heart this team does not work hard, they have no discipline, they have no heart and this is why fans and alumni of other school makes fun of us.

  4. Just go ahead and skip next week. I can't believe I paid an outrageous amount of money for the FSU game next week. I'm going to sell the tickets and put it towards my bills. Why support a bunch of pretending choke artists!

  5. Dear USF Bulls,

In high school I watched you make your presence known in the sports world. I'd just like to thank the Football team for making me feel ashamed to face my friends and family and making excited to come here thank you and go to hell.

  6. I must agree with the comments I've read thus far. Having been an avid fan since 2000, I must say that we have truly entered a Holtz new era...one of darkness and complete mediocrity. Today's loss was merely a new milestone from a coach whose career here has provided us with nothing but lowlights, underachievement, and all around displeasure. If I were in charge of USF, I'd fire Skip at the end of the year (as the rest of this year is pretty much lost anyway), and I'd fire Chris Cosh tonight and make him hitchhike back to Tampa!

  9. How can this team be so good at being so bad!? It's freaking unbelievable how inconsistent they are. That Nevada game should have been a loss that's very clear now. Seriously? Ball State, wait no a MAC conference team? This team doesn't the privledge of paying in the big east. They should be demoted if they allowed that in college football.

  10. I've been saying this to everyone and i told you time and time again things were better under Leavitt at least we made bowl games back then. Fire Skip Holtz! His era has gone on far too long!

  11. This team really needs a new coach the Holtz new era is not working. Between coaches choking students and coaches losing to mediocre teams. I'll take the coach who chokes students. At least they were haviving winning seasons with all the choking lol

  12. wow. people are being so rude on here. I cannot even believe it. we should be supporting them, not downing them even more. no student athlete has an idea how hard athletes at usf work, so until you get out on the field every morning yourself, I don't want to hear it. period. we are usf and the fans are what makes it. there's no way I would give up on them!

  13. In response to the comment above me, fuck you I don't want to hear about it. Student athletes are fucking over privilege I used to tutor them. They go here for free, they get free computers rented to them that are of higher quality than anyone can afford, they get their "girlfriends" do do their homework for them, they barely show up to class, they're supposed to be excellent at what they do if they truly spend so much time practicing. and FYI in the real world once your collegiate career is over these morons can't even do the jobs they barely qualify to do properly. These people should'be be priased they should be condemned. sorry but in the NFL, NBA, corporate world if you don't perform the way the people who are sponsoring and cutting your checks expect you too you should be fire. They should be so lucky that they can hide behind the "student" part of athlete and pretend like it's so hard. They've been blessed with a gift and they squandered them doing other shit other than being excellent at what they do. Fuck you and fuck this team!

  14. Look a loss is a loss. I get it USF is a group of young student athletes just trying to do their best. It's because their nice that people want them to succeed. Guess what though? So is everyone else. The bottom line is USF is an ok team that shows brief flashes of greatness, but you can't be a dominant on just smoke and mirrors. When striped right down to their core USF is just an above average team nothing special about it. It's not an insult it's just the truth and until they can reverse the trend that's what all the critics are every going to see.

  15. please when it comes right down to it USF had the win in their hands. what do they always say? good team find a way to win games, bad teams find a way to lose them. sounds cliche but if you let the opposing team drive 80 yards down the field and can't get a stop when you know the games on the line than yeah u deserve to lose tough $#@!

  16. Wow this is going to be another sucky weekend for Tampa bay sports isnt it? First the Bulls blow it, the Rays are too little too late, the Bucs proved yet again that they can't hold on to a 2 score lead and the Bolts can't even practice jeez!

  17. I can't believe I long for the days when 8-5 was considered a successful season lol

  18. Thanks USF Football you will be getting a very special shout out in my suicide note :-)

  19. This team's punishment should be to walk from Ball State back to Tampa. Take the 1,000+ mile walk to think about what they did or better yet reroute the plane somewhere outside the country strand them without any form of ID.

  20. Lots of frustration here. These guys are hard to watch. The defense is going to get rolled next week. The offense will be much of the same. The won't pile up yardage against FSU. This will be a home game for them. Can't see these guys beating anyone in the Big East let alone being picked as runner-up. Note to Athletic Director: Admit hiring Lou hasn't worked out (great guy though), the extension was a mistake (buy it out) and clean house. Although, not sure who would want to come to USF who couldn't go somewhere else. I can hear Asanti's family urging him to go somewhere else. I can't watch these guys.
