USF Volleyball Faces Syracuse on the Road

The USF Bulls, 10-7 (2-2) hit the road to face Syracuse (game begins at noon).  After a wild win against Cincinnati on Sunday, the Bulls are playing at a high level right now, but face a hungry Syracuse team.  The lady Orange are 8-10 (0-3) and eager to knock off USF for their first conference win.

Cuse is led by freshman outside hitter Silvia Uattara (6-0) who leads the team with 188 kills, 9 service aces, and 98 digs on the season.  Sophomore outside hitter Nicolette Serratore (5-10) has 136 kills and 106 digs on the year.  Sophomore setter Emily Betteridge (5-10) has 100 digs and 474 assists, setting up the offense for the Orange.  Junior outside hitter Samantha Clarey (6-0) has 141 kills and 111 digs.  Sophomore defensive specialist Melina Violas (5-8) has 174 digs and 24 assists to round out their lineup.

The Bulls battled the Bearcats and put up big time numbers, rallying to the home win.  Kayla Walton, Claudia Cabrera and Erin Fairs were all playing out of their minds.  The Bulls will need that kind of effort again on the road if they want to move a game above .500 on league play.
