The offensive struggled in 2010 under first year coordinator Todd Fitch. With limited wide receivers and a quarterback learning on the job, points were hard to come by. Several players changed positions to help fill the void at wide receiver and one player in particular rose to meet the challenge, Evan Landi. The sophomore was once a quarterback but began the transition to receiver at the end of the last season (2009) and made it his full time position this year (2010) Landi proved to be an excellent receiver and is poised to have a big season in 2011.[keep reading]

Landi, 6'3" 221-pounds, is a very athletic player. He was almost the starting quarterback, but moved to wide receiver because of his athletic talent and Daniels taking over the QB position. Landi proved to be a sure-handed target down field in just his first full year at receiver. He had 26 receptions for 354 yards and two touchdowns. Landi does not have elite speed, but has great separation and is able to use his big frame to defend himself against a defender and come down with the ball. Landi made several incredible catches during the season and showed everyone he can be a big downfield threat.

Landi will be a junior this season and will be joined by A.J. Love and Sterling Griffin, both coming off of injury, in the receiving corps. Landi is poised to have a huge season. He is a big receiver, but has great hands and an ability to avoid the defender. As Daniels progresses in year two under Fitch, Landi could be one of his favorite targets to throw to.
