National Title Projection

LaMichael James could put on a show tonight.
Tonight is the big game for the college football world as the Auburn Tigers are taking on the Oregon Ducks for the National Championship. Now I am a Bull fan and alum, but also have love for the Ducks. This title is a big game and while the Bulls may not be there, I am still watching this game and going to be predicting it.

The Auburn offense and entire team has been the talk of the media for the last 36 days. All about Cam Newton, the tough (dirty) Nick Fairley, and the speed of the SEC defense. There has been little love given to the Ducks other than LaMichael James. They call the Oregon defense weak, yet all across the board better than Auburn. They think the Oregon offense is nothing more than gimmicks, schemes, and small weak players, yet they outshine Auburn in nearly every category.

So how will this game go? I think it won't be a huge shootout like everyone is projecting. With this much time off, each team will be ready on defense and will have some new additions on offense. I think the game will be close early and Auburn will probably have the lead at half, but the second half is the Ducks time. I think the Ducks have too many weapons on offense for the Auburn secondary to handle and the Oregon defense, yes, the defense, will do just enough to stop the Tigers late in the game. My projection, which is purely a gut pick: Oregon 45 Auburn 38
