What is Wrong with Famous?

Jarrid Famous has had his playing time decreased this season.
The Bulls got a much needed win last night over DePaul, but one player continues to decline this season, Jarrid Famous. The senior forward/center had a solid 2009-2010 campaign, but in 2010-2011, his numbers are down across the board and by watching him on the court proves the point.[keep reading]

Famous, the 6'10" 240-pound senior out of the Bronx, had a great season last year for the Bulls. He averaged 10.4 points per game. He helped dominate the paint and was an excellent defender. He had several double-doubles during conference play and gave the Bulls a solid player in the paint. But this season, something is off with him. Famous is only averaging 5.4 points per game and after watching him live last night, he doesn't seem right.

Now before I get blasted and questioned "doesn't seem right" let me explain. Watching the game court side, Famous does not have the same fire he did last season. On offense, he is not as aggressive and his shot selection is awful. He still hustles, but is just not the same scoring threat. He is still physically sound and solid from the line, but just doesn't seemed fully engaged on that side of the court. Famous has been added to a rotation of 4 big men in the paint that Heath likes to use to get new matchups on the court, meaning Famous's minutes are being cut. Is this the reason he doesn't seem right on offense? Is his timing off or is he upset about playing time? I can't say for certain and could be wrong on everything, but watching as an average fan, something is amiss for him.

On defense, Famous is still solid in the paint. He has always been a great rebounder and is helping to contribute to the presence inside for the Bulls. But on several plays that DePaul ran, Famous was way out of place. He came up to the top of the key on switches and when getting back on defense, he was late on several trips, leading to easy buckets for DePaul which struggled to get any offense going last night. Being late on defensive assignments and simply not seeing a play is going to happen, but constantly is not a good sign.

Now I know I am going out on a limb here and probably many will disagree, but this is just what I see with him on the court. I am sure there is nothing wrong with him physically and no idea if he is upset with something (I don't know what happens in the locker room), but this is just what I see with him on the court. He doesn't seem right on the court. He is not as aggressive, his numbers are down, and his defensive vision seems to be a bit off as well. I am probably wrong, but this is just what I see. Do you agree, you think Famous is off and not right? Or do you think I am way, way out of my mind and Famous is just fine?
