Bulls Fall to Pitt

Not even blinding the Pitt Panthers could stop them last night from notching their 5th straight conference win.
It was the same story for the Bulls as they fell again on the road to #4 Pitt 55 to 67. The Bulls were only down by 3 at halftime, but Pitt woke up in the second half and out rebounded and stopped the USF offense, sending them to another loss (8-19 now 2-12 in conference play).[keep reading]

Noriega led the way again in scoring with 11 points (4-9 shooting), Fitzpatrick had 6 points, and Famous (decided to show up) had 10 points. Robertson had 9 points and 7 rebounds and Gilchrist had 10 points (he continues to slump). Poland had 0 points in just 10 minutes played and Crater had 5 points and 6 assists.

The Bulls were out rebounded 35 to 17, taking away any second chance points and controlling the game while Ashton Gibbs, the star for Pitt, sat out due to injury. The Bulls were not effective enough on offense as the depth and experience of the Pitt team was simply too much for the Bulls.

The team showed some heart on the floor in this game after getting beaten down by Notre Dame. It seems that Heath is allowing Noriega more playing time and it seems to be paying off as he continues to find his range. Poland not playing much is a concern, but had to do with matchups in this game.

The Bulls are back in action vs. Georgetown on the 19th at 7 PM in the Sun Dome. Please come out and support your team and cheer as they try to get a few wins to end the season and need the support of the home crowd.
