USF baseball is back in action tonight as the Bulls take on Stetson at 7 PM.
The Bulls won 2 of 3 against Seton Hall, but are still 17-18 (7-5) in conference play and are still a game under .500. USF won their 3rd Big East series, but failed to get a sweep over a team they held the advantage over and should have dominated like they did in their first two games.
Now they have to take on Stetson who is now 21st in the country and simply dominating right now. The Hatters are 29-7 on the season and defeated USF 9 to 1 last time they faced each other in DeLand.
The Bulls have an uphill battle in this match up. The offense was held to just 4 hits last game against Seton Hall and it won't get any easier against Stetson. The Bulls had just a handful of chances against the Hatters in Deland and will be facing the same type of struggle again tonight.
Nick Gonzalez may get the start tonight (on his usual schedule), but the freshman is struggling big time with his command and with a needed win here, it is uncertain who Prado will send to the mound.
The Bulls will then travel to Louisville on Thursday to begin another key road series in Big East play as USF tries to remain in the middle of the Big East race and tries to keep any postseason hopes alive as well.
