Nick Patti received an offer from USF (Picture:www.rivals.com) |
USF is always on the recruiting trail and this time they have offered in-state quarterback Nick Patti (5'10" 190-pounds) out of Dr. Philips High School in Orlando, Florida.
Patti is a pro-style quarterback that is starting to get a lot of attention around the state. UCF and Louisiana Tech have already offered and now USF has made a verbal offer as well.
The Bulls brought in Matt Floyd this season and Bobby Eveld is a freshman as well. B.J. Daniels is entering his junior year, but there are some questions on whether Jamius Gunsby will return to the team. He left the team this Spring to focus on academics. This may be the reason the Bulls are offering another quarterback.
Here is footage of him during his sophomore season. He has a nice release and a strong arm. What you will notice is that he leads his receivers to where the ball will be placed, placing it where only they can catch the ball. He has nice touch on the long passes and can fire a ball underneath coverage to an open target. He operates primarily out of the shot gun, but has nice footwork and is able to move around the pocket, scramble and make the throw.
The kid sure has talent but @ 5'10" I don't feel too at ease with him

ReplyDeleteHonestly though, do we need another QB in this signing class? We have B.J. who isn't going to leave early, Sophomore Bobby Eveld, Redshirt Junior Jamius Gunsby, and Freshman Matt Floyd. I think we might have one more coming in this year too
ReplyDeleteGunsby's a freshman.
ReplyDeleteWe do need one more signal-caller... there's been rumors that Gunsby is not picking the offense well & that he may move to another position...plus taking the rest of the spring off to focus on academics didn't help his progression... so another QB is just safe
ReplyDeleteI just have a feeling Gunsby won't return to the team this fall, but hope I am wrong but, he has not been so great with the offense so far. We need at least 1 quarterback in this year's class to help bolster the position.
