End of Spring Top 25

With the conclusion of spring practices last weekend, we fans have a long summer of anticipation ahead of us with no football talk until summer practices begin. I spent last summer on the couch every day looking for recruiting news and waiting for ESPN to start talking college football. Take my advice: don't do that. Sure, you'll be well-informed and know pretty much everything there is to know around the world of college football, but you'll lose your mind with the anticipation of football season. Of course, there are just 112 days until USF kicks off in South Bend, but if I don't learn to be patient, I don't think I'll even make it to September 3rd. The best way we here at TBR had to cope with the suffering of waiting was to compose our own Top 25. By the beginning of the season we're going to have input from bloggers all around the Big East, but for now we're going solo. So, without any more delay, check out where we placed the Top 25 teams in the nation after the jump.

First off, you can see our individual ballots here: Mike's top 25 and Matt's top 25.

And here's the composite of our two ballots and the ballots of Bryan from Pitt Script, Scott from Bearcats Blog, and Jim from HailWV.

Personally, I don't think Florida is that good. Texas either. I had USF at #20 in my ballot, ahead of both Notre Dame and West Virginia, but apparently no one agrees with me. Only one person voted for Penn State, and it shot them up the polls, so you can see how the smaller sample size can throw off the numbers a bit. Luckily, we'll be joined in the regular season by Mike from UCHuskies and Brian from Orange::44, so we'll have an even better look at what the rest of the conference thinks.

Let me know what you think about our poll in the comments. Tell us if you think we missed anyone or if we have some team too high.

  1. I think we would be around 20-25.

And who gave Central Florida votes???

  2. Yeah I put them at 20 and Matt put them at 25. Apparently the rest of the league doesn't think we're as good as we think we are. The guy from Pitt Script put UCF at #23 I think. Disgusting.

  3. But for a relatively weak conference schedule, Tulsa will turn some heads this year. Don't be surprised if they crack the top 25 by the end of the season. Hawaii also could be a dark horse for a top 25 finish.
