USF Offers 2012 Tampa Safety

The Bulls have offered a local talent this time in the never ending world of recruiting. USF has recently offered 4-star (according to Scout.com) safety Nelson Agholor. Agholor, the 6'1" 175-pound star out of Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida is a high rising star that will pose a huge challenge to the Bulls to keep home.

Agholor was named 1st team All-Hillborough County by the Tampa Tribune, playing as a receiver, a return specialist and as a lock down defender. He has incredible speed and can fly to the ball carrier. He could play cornerback, but will probably stay at safety. He needs to add a few pounds of muscle and work on his overall tackling ability, but his incredible speed and athletic ability make him a prime player and the competition for his services is at an all time high and will only grow.

USF joins a very elite group of offers for Agholor. Programs such as Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, TCU, Texas and even USC (west coast coming to Florida now?) have all offered, meaning Coach Holtz and staff will have to work their miracle to keep the fence up in the backyard and keep Agholor at home (hard to see him staying in Tampa unless USF is simply his dream school).

Check out some of his game footage from last season. Agholor is simply all over the field and would be a huge, huge signing for the Bulls. The competition is tough and he will only get more offers in the near future, but who can blame other programs, a talent like Agholor would be a huge addition to any team.

  1. I'm pretty sure he has an older brother on the Florida roster. I would be more than surprised if he didn't end up there.

  3. I tend to agree. Agholor is getting a ton of offers from huge programs and USF seems to be in the middle of the pack right now. It would be a miracle if he came here, I see him going to an SEC school at this stage.
