Even though he can't play this season, UF transfer Chris Dunkley is already impressing at the Fall Camp. |
From Adam Adkins - Here are just a few notes from the 4th day of USF practice. Today was the first real practice at Vero Beach for the Bulls. They arrived last night and were treated to a big BBQ before they went to work today. Practice was without pads and helmets, but the practice tomorrow will be in shells.
DE Brandon Wilkinson and running back Dontae Aycock were both held out of practice today (according to Adam Adkins). There was no word given on why they may be out for the first day (we will let you know as soon as news becomes available).
Todd Chandler was moving well during the defensive lineman drills, getting off the ball quickly and working hard. He is a player that should make an impact this season if he keeps progressing and pushing hard like this.
LB Curtis Weatherspoon got a lot of snaps with the first team defense today, working with Sam Barrington at middle and DeDe Lattimore working on the weakside. Reshard Cliett worked with the 2nd team with Mike Lanaris at middle and flanked by Mike Juene. This is not a huge surprise, especially knowing Weatherspoon does have more experience, but both will battle through the Fall camp.
Chris Dunkley continues to show his talent with the passing game early in the camp (wish he could play this season though). Andre Davis is also in the mix as well.
The BIGGEST news of course was the departure of defensive end Brandon Wilkinson and running back Dontae Aycock. Aycock stated his heart is not in football anymore and has been dealing with weight issues as he slipped on the depth chart. He will stay at USF and pursue his degree. Wilkinson has decided to leave to a I-AA program or go Junior College for a chance to play early. Here is the story we had earlier.
We will bring you all the news and highlights as the team continues the Fall camp in Vero Beach (season is almost here!)
did u go to the practice?
