Top 10 Moments of 2010: Number 3

Bulls fans, can you taste football season? Only three weeks until South Bend! I know tensions are high with all this talk about conference realignment, so let's settle down with the third top moment of the 2010 football season.

Number 3: Halftime at the Florida game

Another year, another shot at a traditional national power. USF fared well lately, beating Florida State, North Carolina, and Auburn in recent seasons. This looked like a bit more of a longshot, however, with USF coming in for coach Skip Holtz's second game with the Bulls.

USF surprised everyone by coming out with a new ground-and-pound style and jumping out to a 7-0 lead. Inconsistent quarterback play by both teams stalled the game, keeping the Bulls out in front until B.J. Daniels tossed away an interception that got returned for a touchdown right before the half.

So, we didn't take our lead into halftime, but according to all the oddsmakers, we should have been down by two touchdowns at this point. UF is respected as the perennial team to beat in the state of Florida, so just keeping up with them as such an up-and-coming team garnered enough respect as it was.

But what really made halftime in Gainesville one of the top moments of the season was looking around the stadium. The USF section was on top of the world, loving every minute of their shot at the state's power. That feeling alone would have been enough to make this list of top moments, but what really made this a prime moment on the list was looking past the USF section. UF fans were shocked, holding their heads in their hands in disbelief. "Who the hell is USF? And how are they outplaying us, the best team ever?". The feeling of pure ecstasy at this almost galvanizing game was easily one of the best moments of the 2010 season, and perhaps in USF history.
