USF Women's Soccer Exhibition Canceled

Well the 2011 season did get started like the ladies would like. The USF vs. FGCU exhibition game was officially canceled after two rain delays and the constant weather in the area that simply made it impossible to get anything done on the field.

The teams were able to play for a short time. USF scored the lone goal in the 17th minute. Alexa Hosey got the goal after taking a kick at the top of the box and netting it in the right side of the goal, but it was erased after the rain came down.

While this game was only an exhibition game, it does hurt their preparation for the regular season. They will have one more exhibition game on Friday at 7 PM at Clemson before they prepare for the season opener on August 19th against that school in Orlando (Mickey Mouse University).

This is a big season for a the senior led Bulls who have been tabbed to finish 4th in the Big East. The Bulls finished 3rd last season in the Big East, making the Big East tournament and into the NCAA tournament, the first time the program has made the NCAA tournament. Hopefully the weather up in the Carolinas will play nice and the ladies will be able to get a solid game under their belts before the games really matter.
