Five Ways USF Could Win or Lose Against FAMU

USF is the favorite heading into the game, there is really no question about that, but on any given day, any team can lose a game. USF has to remain focused, execute the gameplan, and finish each play to get the win here. They can't afford a let down game, fall asleep, and let an in-state opponent get the better of us. Here are a few ways USF can win this game and 5 ways they can lose the game just as fast.

5 reasons USF will win this game

More talent - Face the facts, USF has bigger, stronger, faster players on the field. They also have a lot more depth being a Division 1 FBS team compared to a smaller school like FAMU. Our depth and overall talent level should make getting points easier and the depth will allow USF to stay fresh and wear down the Rattlers.

Speed - USF is loaded with speed, no doubt about it. T-Rex got into the mix last week against Ball State and Lindsey Lamar got the start at slot receiver with Joel Miller battling a concussion. Having those players, along with Sterling Griffin and others alters the field for USF. The bubble screens and quick passes get the ball out of Daniels hands and into the hands of the fast players in space that will make something happen in this game.

Homefield - Playing at Raymond James Stadium counts for something. USF needs to continue to win these games at home during non-conference and playing in this stadium is key. Most of the FAMU players haven't played in an environment like this so crowd noise and overall feeling will be on the Bulls side, something that will only help the team get the win.

No Fly Zone - FAMU is relying heavy on the passing game to get anything going on offense while their running game is hitting a brick wall every time out. The Bulls have one of their best secondaries in recent history and the No Fly Zone squad will be locking down the passing attack, swarming to the ball and making big plays. Expect big hits and maybe a few interceptions to happen in this game.

We should win - This an FCS opponent. Not to take anything away from them (ask Oregon State about that) but this is a game the Bulls are suppose to win. Bigger program, more talent, more depth, etc. Losing a game like this would be a big disappointment for the team and I don't see Holtz letting that happen. They will come into this game focused and ready to go to war with the Rattlers.

Here are 5 reasons why USF could lose this game

Not focused - We continue to state this and it is always something we worry about with this team. Holtz seems to have each player focused and prepared for the task at hand, not looking down the road. One mental lapse on the field could be defeat for USF and they have to give it everything they have in this game.

Injuries - USF has a few tweaks and strains on a few players and if a key player does go down and the reserve players don't do well (we all saw what Eveld and the second team offense did out there) it could be a bad evening and a bad sign for down the road.

Turnovers - If you want to win a game, you can't turn the ball over (ask ND). Daniels has a history of throwing interceptions, although he may have turned that around this season. If he gets a little too relaxed out there and tries to force throws, he could make life hard for the offense and put the defense in a tough spot.

Team bus breaks down - We have been serious through all of these (and through the week), but we can have a little fun right? The Bulls take a bus to the stadium, so if the bus were to break down on Dale Mabry, maybe they wouldn't be able to make it to the field on time and FAMU might get a chance to win the game (we are pretty sure the team will be there and will get this win).

Marching 100 takes the field - The Bulls seem to have all of the advantages on the field, but what happens if the FAMU marching band takes the field to help the football team? I don't think we would be able to handle their dancing and music (no offense to HOT). It might be the only way they could beat the team on the field if the game got bad.
