Results from Big East Week 9 Picks

Another week is in the books for the Big East and with only 3 games on the schedule, there was not a lot of room to improve in the standings. Mike continues to lead the race, while Jim sits only a game behind in the standings from myself. Let's see if anyone improved this weekend.

Pitt over UCONN

The Panthers won the game, but lost 3 key players in the process including the Big East leading rusher, Ray Graham. Sunseri threw for over 400 yards, but losing Graham is huge for this team. UCONN continues to confuse us, winning weeks they shouldn't and losing in weeks where they could win. Jim and I take a loss here, while Mike gets lucky and comes away with a win.
Matt: 33-16
Mike: 37-12
Jim: 32-17

Louisville over Syracuse

The Cardinals looked impressive in this game, shutting down the Syracuse offense that struggled to get anything done. The Cards stopped the Orange from becoming bowl eligible for the second straight season. We all take a loss here. I guess we should throw out the Syracuse/Orange game as a bench mark for what that team can do.
Matt: 33-17
Mike: 37-13
Jim: 31-18

WVU over Rutgers

What an ugly game to play in. The snow was coming down hard at Rutgers and the Mountaineers got off to a rough start, but were able to find a way to get the running game going and scored plenty of points against an energized Rutgers team. USF will be praying for better conditions next week when they make that trip up North. We all get a key win here as well.
Matt: 34-17
Mike: 38-13
Jim: 32-18

Mike still leads the series, but with 4 games on the schedule, anything can happen this coming weekend.
