The Big East voted last night to raise the exit fee to $10 million, in hopes of keeping the conference together, but a lot is still undetermined.
Word came last night that Missouri would apply to the SEC, which would mean the Big 12 could go after the Big East teams like Louisville, leaving the Big East desperate again. Word also broke last night that Houston had been invited by the conference, the first word of invitation from the Big East. Air Force, Navy, Boise State, and UCF should also receive invites soon, most likely this week after the Big East media day for basketball.
Right now, the conference is on life support and no matter what happens, it will be bad for the conference. Adding teams like the academies and C-USA teams is the last move they have or they could simply fall apart, something USF does not want to see. We will have to watch and listen this week and into the future about the invites and if teams want to join the sinking ship known as the Big East.
