Key Match-ups for USF vs. Rutgers

Here are some of the biggest match-ups to watch in the USF vs. Rutgers game. Every player contributes, but the key battles could give USF the win or the loss.

B.J. Daniels vs. Defensive Tackle Justin Francis

Daniels will have to run the show and do a better job managing the game, especially on the road and without Griffin as well. Francis will try to pressure Daniels and cause trouble, he will have to figure out how to avoid the rush, get the ball into the playmakers hands, and move the offense down the field.

Darrell Scott vs. Linebacker Khaseem Greene

Scott has to get going to help control the ball and run the clock, dictating the offense during the game. Greene is the tackling machine for the Knights and will get after Scott, either up in the box or down the field. They will have to make sure he holds onto the ball and keeps moving forward.

Wide Receivers vs. Rutgers Secondary

The USF receivers lost Griffin, can't explain how bad that is for the passing game. With Love banged up, it will be the young players such as Davis, Gonzalez, Welch and others to get more playing time. They will have to step up in this game and help Daniels out, make the big catches, and get down field to help the offense.

Quarterback Gary Nova vs. Ryne Giddins

Nova is playing well for the Knights, but has lost two straight games, something he is not accustomed too (never defeated in high school). The USF pass rush has to get to him, led by Giddins. Giddins has come to life recently and has to continue to get to the quarterback and get pressure on Nova.

Wide Receiver Mohamed Sanu vs. Kayvon Webster

Sanu does everything for Rutgers, on returns, at receiver, rushing, and even quarterback. He is a big playmaker and the biggest weapon in the secondary, Webster, will have his hands full to shut him and make something happen.
