USF Volleyball Takes on Georgetown

The Bulls host Georgetown this afternoon (game is at 2PM in the Rec center, the last home game of the regular season for the ladies). The Bulls have lost several straight games, dropping them to 9-15 (5-6) on the season and facing the bottom of the conference as Georgetown comes to town.

The Hoyas enter the game with an overall record of 14-10 (6-5) and are 5-6 away from home, so it might be one of the last chances for the Bulls get to a big win at home on senior day.

Georgetown is led by senior setter Ashley Malone (5-11). She has 122 kills, 960 assists, 34 service aces (dangerous in the serve game), and has 263 digs, doing a little bit of everything. Freshman middle-blocker Dani White (5-10) has 207 kills and 32 digs on the season. Junior middle-blocker Lindsay White (6-3) has 213 kills, 15 service aces, and 36 digs. Freshman outside-hitter Alex Johnson (5-11) has 281 kills, 36 assists, and 216 digs (another strong young player in the Big East). Senior Tory Rezin (5-7) has 16 service aces and 356 digs on the season as well.

USF needs to win the last home game of the season if they want to improve their record. Chances of moving in the Big East tournament are all but gone now, but a solid win here will improve their confidence and could help them win the last two games on the road as well. Best of luck to the ladies!
