2012 USF Baseball Schedule Released

USF baseball has returned.
The 2012 baseball schedule has been released as the Bulls prepare for another season (full schedule can be found here). The Bulls finished the 2011 season with a disappointing record of 25-29 (13-14) finishing 9th in the Big East and missing the Big East tournament which is held right across the bridge. This is two straight losing seasons for the Bulls and with expectations high for Prado and team, they have to rebound this season. But that won't be easy with the schedule they have.

USF will have to face 7 teams that made it to the NCAA tournament last season, the first being a matchup with Bethune Cookman. The Bulls will start the season playing in the Big East/Big Ten Challenge which will take place in St. Pete and Clearwater. USF will face Ohio State, Michigan State, and Minnesota during the challnege (February 17-19th).

A real key stretch for USF is their home schedule from March 3rd to April 3rd where they will be at home for 20 straight games during that run. They end the season with a lot of road conference games, but getting a chance to build up a solid record and get the offense and pitching prepared, will have them ready for the stretch run. They will also face the New York Yankees in a friendly exhibition game on March 2nd (TBA).

The Bulls are looking to rebound this season after a disappointing 2011 season. They have a lot of weapons, including the return of Andrew Barbosa, but will need more offense and for other pitchers to raise their game in order to get more wins this season. We will have more insight into the season as well as player bios before the season begins.
