USF Hits the Road to Take on Louisville

The USF Bulls, 18-11 (11-5) on the season now hit the road as they face a huge game with big implications not only for the Big East tournament but for a possible NCAA bid.  USF must face the 17th ranked Louisville Cardinals who are 22-7 (10-6) and 16-3 at home this season, creating another big test for the rising Bulls.

The Cardinals are averaging 70 points per game, play a fast tempo, and often pressure on defense, creating an interesting match-up for USF that likes to slow down the game and burn the shot clock.
Senior guard/forward Kyle Kuric (6-4 195-pounds) is averaging 13.1 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, and has 37 steals on the season.  Senior guard Chris Smith (6-2 195-pounds) is averaging 10.2 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game.  Sophomore center Gorgui Dieng (6-11 235-pounds) is averaging 9.8 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game, providing a big match-up battle for the USF front line.

Freshman forward Chane Behanan (6-6 245-pounds) is averaging 9.3 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game.  Junior guard Peyton Siva (6-8 180-pounds) is averaging 5.8 points per game, 2.8 rebounds per game, 5.2 assists per game, and has 46 steals.  His speed will be key in the game and how he plays against Anthony Collins.  Freshman guard/forward Wayne Blackshear (6-5 225-pounds) is averaging 4.8 points per game and 2 rebounds per game since returning from his injury that took him out most of the season.  Sophomore guard Russ Smith (6-0 180-pounds) is averaging 12.2 points per game and 2.6 rebounds as well.

This is going to be a tough game for USF.  They are playing a tough ranked team that plays well at home and is coached by a legend.  They run an up-tempo style, but if USF is able to control the clock, crash the boards, and frustrate the Cardinals into making turnovers, USF has a remote chance to pull the upset.
